1. Presidents report: (TG)
Thanks to Dave & Vollies for weed management works on trails. Top Shelf is now open now that FKG works are completed. No damage to trail network from these works. Bottom of Frenzy fire road has been tendered and will commence in next month or two. Highlife/ Viper has been completed by Trailbiz and is ready to be opened. (JO) Dirt is black soil and needs tyres.
GE & FOR set for Sep 18-19 – planning to commence closer to date.
DH is June 12-13 with Jake Simpson happy to come back to co-ordinate this.
2. Treasures report: (MM)
Approx. $25K cash in account (mix of GE and donations) Still $5K to acquit to grants. Cycling Aus have recommended a slight increase from $20 to $25 for club membership across all clubs. Club happy to update this.
3. Summer Slam (TG)
Summer Slam 1 was a success with round 2 due on the 31/1 with the same set up. A good mix of skill and age groups attended.
Current issues around MTBA transition to Cycling Aus which is slowing our registrations of Summer Slam 2. MM working through this. Decision made to change back to 2 hours from 3.
4. Highlife (TG)
Repairs will go direct to market; however, club will have a say in design. Decision made to focus on bringing Highlife back to old self – Keeping it on the high side of the fire road, between 350m and 400m and have a similar pace and blue rating to the old trail. Club to post to socials around this and for people to email club directly if they would like to have involvement in this. Club will then meet with this group to discuss plan.
.
5. Maintenance (DW)
Maintenance scheduled for this weekend with a focus on Top Shelf, Danomite and the remainder of the upper Jubilee trails commencing at Bridge St. (DW) Some of the gear is in need of some maintenance – decision made to look at this after Sat maintenance. (JO) offer volunteers who have been using their own gear some line/ fuel etc.
6. Go Fund Me (GFM) for North Face
Club will put up a GFM for North Face project – which will be split into 2 parts based around both funding and grant timing. Part 1 will be Hot Rod extension and one of the black trails near Ida. Part 2 will be the Blue Traverse and the remaining black ascent and double black descent near Ida.
7. General Business
(GC) Lets utilise the club calendar with more social events and lock them in now. Possibilities around social rides, Easter event or another night ride. Club to discuss this more through chat.
