Park Etiquette
Jubilee Park is a multi use space, and a code of etiquette should be observed to ensure that all users enjoy a fantastic experience whilst in the park.
Pack it in , Pack it out. You will notice that Jubilee Park has no bins. The local laws dictate that all rubbish shall be removed by the park user, on completion of their activity. Leave no trace.
Trail runners, Bush Walkers, and Horse Riders, are not permitted on Mountain Bike specific trails, as sign posted. This is for reasons of safety, and also due to the trails being built and funded by Mountain Bikers for Mountain Biking.
On multi use trails, descend at a safe speed and remember that:
Horses have priority, followed by hikers, and then bikers. It’s pretty simple to remember and makes encounters much more pleasant when everyone knows who gets to go first.
Give way to climbing riders. When descending a two way trail, stop, pull to the left, allow the climbing rider, or riders to go pass.
Do not go the wrong way on a one way trail, this is a recipe for a serious accident.
If you need to stop on a trail, move off the line, failure to do so may cause a serious accident.
The only motorised bikes allowed in Jubilee Park are Class 1 pedal assist E-MTB.
All riders, and especially E Bikers, if you need to pass someone, let them know politely, and pass when safe to do so. If you are being passed, make efforts to accommodate the passing rider.
If you ride with music, please wear headphones. No one goes out for a ride in the hopes to encounter a rider with tunes blaring out of their phone speaker. Annoying and unnecessary.
Trail dogs are not permitted off leash. However if you choose to ignore this local law, and your dog poops, scoop it up and refer to points 1 and 6.
Please don’t cut trails to get yourself a KOM. Earn it.
Do not, under any circumstance alter trail features to suit your level of riding. It is dangerous, and not your decision to make. If you believe that a feature needs a revamp, attend the next club meeting, and put your views forward for a vote.
Be nice, say hi, enjoy.
