August Action Items

Set up Apparel on TMBC Website - Completed

• Six items of apparel have been created through a Brisbane company – The Print Bar

• A separate website has been created (Free through the Print Bar) and a link has been embedded on the TMBC Main website. Financial links to the TMBC Paypal account have also been completed.

• Payment options have been embedded into the Print Bar site, with profits kept small (Under $2 per item) to ensure that our members have access to affordable club merch year round.

• The links are live with both Cam and Damien having purchased items, the quality of the Athletic T-Shirt is excellent.

Interschool Competition - Ongoing

• DW - How do we go about running interschool comps (timing, marshals, paid “vollies” etc?)

o MM – Race crew (vollies) will need an ABN to be paid, essentially as a sub-contractor

 Possible increased liability risk

• MM suggested that Interschool comp will likely need its own committee

o Other comps run a “rule” whereby if a child wants to race, their parents must volunteer “X” amount of hours

• Possibly hire out our timing gear

• Seems like the best course of action would be for TMBC to detach from the comp

o TMBC not in a position time wise to run the competition, however we can offer advice and some assistance where time permits

o Interschool Comp should have its own committee

o TMBC to hire out timing chips

o DC,CC, and DW will all have regional Commissaire accreditation soon

o WB suggested using some golf flags for features

• Lockable Trail Box

o Ongoing discussions on required weight, and dimensions

 Does it need to be a one person lift

o Revisit the idea in a sub-committee.

• Jumps on Viper

o They need to be rebuilt as less kicky features, possibly two jumps rather than three.

• Rollercat

o Rollers on the top of rollercat need attention

• Cheeseburger/Fries Realignment

o Design and implement works as discussed

• HotRod

o Generate revenue for the club

Purchase Additional Timing Chips

• Closed – Not Viable

o Chips are $80 each, cheaper in the short term to hire them

o Batteries can run out

o Not required as events over 50 Riders fall into a different category, complete with a whole range of different requirements

 Medical, Commissaires etc.

o Events under 50 remain “Bronze” Events

Interclub Social Events

• Viability of forming an interclub competition with other regional clubs

o WB contacted Kooralbyn MTB Club to assess the viability of a meet up, similar to the one TMBC did with Stanthorpe MTB Club

o Very receptive to the idea (Party, Ride Shuttle day at both locations)

o Far enough away for a weekend event

o Stanthorpe MTB interested in utilising TMBC timing equipment for a club event

 TMBC needs to focus on Toowoomba for the remainder of the year

 Possibly assist after Christmas

o WB Suggested holding a Funduro – Stanthorpe Vs TMVC Vs Kooralbyn

 3 races – 3 locations

o Summer sends over December/January

 How many races can we realistically run per year (in Toowoomba)?
